What does Google Meet's real-time translation offer?
In May, Google launched the beta version of a long-awaited feature: real-time translation of conversations in Google Meet.
Currently, English and Spanish-speaking users subscribed to Google AI Pro can hear their interlocutor in their own language. During video calls, those who speak English will hear the conversation translated live, even if the other person is speaking Spanish, and vice versa.
Although this feature is exclusive to premium subscribers, all participants in a meeting can use it if a subscriber activates it. As it's still in beta, the feature is under development, not available to all users, and translations have a short delay of a few seconds.
Moreover, this translator ensures communication confidentiality, as no audio is stored and no AI model is trained using your voice.
