One of the fastest-growing areas has been written language analysis: from 31.2% of businesses in 2022 to 44.7% in 2024.

Workflow automation remained stable: from 46.2% in 2022 to 39% in 2024.
Language generation, both written and spoken, saw a significant rise: from 23.5% to 36.9%.

Other key uses include machine learning (33.1% in 2022 and 34.6% in 2024); speech-to-text conversion (32.4% to 32.8%); image-based identification of objects or people (dropping from 39.7% to 30.6%); and physical machine movement (down from 17.6% to 12.3%, after a temporary spike of 33.1% in 2023).

We also have data showing where generative AI is being applied. Marketing and sales have seen the most growth, from 22.8% in 2023 to 28.7% in 2024.

By contrast, usage in production processes fell (from 29.9% to 26.8%), remained stable in R&D (24.5% to 24%), dropped in financial management (20.3% to 19.1%), and decreased in logistics (11.6% to 8.5%).
